Series: Decay
May 8th, 2011

A nice contrast within Saskatoon (and likely within most cities) is the fact that there are certain very beautiful areas within the city, and other areas which look decayed, monotonous, and devoid of all feeling. This series features the most desolate and ugly regions of the city - which mostly do not even look like city photos. Abandoned railroad tracks, monotonous factories, and industrial wastelands make up the bulk of this black and white photoshoot. Saskatoon city promotion, and public relations people should avoid these photos at all costs if they want to make this place look like a "bright", "happy", and "modern" city.

Series: Saskatoon Riverside

May 4th, 2011

I decided to take a fairly long walk along  the South Saskatchewan river initially intending to take video footage for a promotional video. Once I started walking though, I realized a photoshoot would be more appropriate. When I first went out, it was cloudy with a little bit of rain but as the day progressed the sun came out at times which helped to give the photoshoot more variety, as well as resulting in some interesting cloud photos.

Series: Vibrant Authmn Palette
September 28th, 2010

These shots were taken during my first photoshoot after moving to Saskatoon. What I came to realize is that the river valley in Saskatoon is a perfect location for taking photos, and offers a lot of variety as well depending on the area and the season. The pictures in this photoshoot were taken during authmn so the colors are fairly vibrant and brighter than most of my photography.

Series: Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park
May 16th, 2010

A short afternoon trip to the Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park provided the time and area to shoot a few photos. Unfortunately,  the main purpose of the trip was not to take photos so this series is very small.

Series: Antartica  in Saskatchewan

December 28th, 2009

This series was taken around the small village of Cabri, Saskatchewan showing the very bright and white wasteland of winter desolation in rural Saskatchewan. The combination of a bright sun, empty white prairies, and cold temperatures make for some interesting scenes which gives off an aura of absolute nothingness.

Series: Desolation in the Prairie
November 15th, 2009

The first photoshoot for Hypnotic Dirge photography took me around the desolate prairies around the small town of Cabri, Saskatchewan. As you can tell by the date, it was pretty close to winter at this point but there was no snow on the ground so it was still possible to shoot the necessary prairie shots without snow. The shots in this album show the absolute desolation, solitude, and nothingness that lies between any possible main roads in Saskatchewan.
